17th September   A Welcome to the New Season

A welcome to returning and new members. There will be a chance for members to show a few of their photos of
what they did over the summer. Also, we will view the images submitted for our summer challenge on the theme
of ‘The Right Angle’.

1st October

Ken Dow – “Macro My Way”

Ken Dow is a member of Paisley Colour Photographic Club. He explains his approach to macro and close-up photography.

This talk is in aid of Ovarian Cancer Research – all contributions welcome.

Workflow Workshop

Club members explain their photographic workflow, all the way from planning a shoot up to image processing and image sizing for Social Media / Competition Entry / Projection.

19th November – Members Photo Night – Macro Follow-up

A follow-up evening to Ken Dow’s talk in October. Members will demonstrate what they learned from Ken’s talk with lots of examples.

3rd December – Mike Caithness ARPS – “Yorkshire Coast Miscellany”

Mike is a past president of Edinburgh Photographic Society. His talk covers images from several trips to the Yorkshire coast where he didn’t concentrate on landscapes but on details, people and car racing!

17th December – Christmas Social Night

An opportunity for members to show images from current projects.  There will also be plenty of time for snacks.

7th January  Annual Dinner

14th January  – Damian Shields – “My Journey in Landscape”

Landscape photographer and deputy picture editor for the Glasgow Times and Herald, Damian Shields, talks about his early influences and background. He’ll then explain his planning process and offer some insights into the various sites and apps that he uses to plan ahead.

This is a shared night with Gala CC, held in the Drill Hall, Peebles.

A chance for members to showcase their images with short talks of 10 – 15 minutes.

4th March –  “The Heart of the Photograph” – David duChemin

A recorded talk by Canadian World and Humanitarian photographer, David duChemin, made specifically for camera clubs. Using examples of his own photographs, David explains how to make stronger, more expressive photographs.

18th March – Zan Threlfall – “Scottish Wildlife Photography”

Zan is a Scottish- based award winning wildlife photographer. Her talk will cover her approach to wildlife photography in Scotland from planning, through fieldcraft to composition.

David presents images of a recent trip to Botswana.

A timed photo hunt around Peebles.

Our AGM and annual prize giving. We’ll also look at the results from the photo hunt.
